You should be praising God every morning for blessing you with another day to live, because with everything that's going on today within our society, you HAVE to thank GOD for each and every day. And even though we already know that life is never promised, do not allow your guard to be turned down. Life is precious, and with the way things are going now, you can't even walk down the street without wondering who or what's around the corner. is someone going to get shot? is someone getting arrested? is someone robbing a store? its even gotten to the point where people are getting shot, and people are going to more funerals, than they are school. but the funny thing about people is that we are all fearless. yes, FEARLESS*. you may be reading this and be thinking 'she doesn't know what she's talking about! I'm scared...' yes, that may be true, but you still wake up every day and that's being pretty fearless to me. you wake up every morning because you're not afraid to open your eyes anymore. you may be holding your breath due to the anxious feeling of not knowing if it's a dream, but you still open your eyes every day. Another thing we take for granted are the people we've grown to love. We may not realize how precious this life is, and how fragile it makes us, but we will when we lose people in our life that's made footprints on our hearts. I may not see my friends or family as much as I SHOULD, but that doesn't mean I love and care for them less. In fact, I have the perfect example: I will always remember this particular guy (Luis), not because he went to school with me everyday, and bugged me every time I was doing a client's hair, but because he's made the biggest impact on me. One night, he just didn't end up getting home. Instead he ended up in an ambulance and put on life support, because some stupid idiot thought it would be pretty awesome to shoot someone in the face ): (RIP Lui) it's wasn't easy finding out, because we were pretty much the last people who ever saw him (school was from Monday-Thursday til 9:45p) you never realize how much these people (people being the ones you meet at school) make such a huge difference in your life, not until, they are taken away from you in the blink of an eye. when you're actually doing what you love*, you find the greatest friends that leave the deepest footprints in your heart, and with Luis, well, he definitely left his footprint in mines. we've grown as individuals, as classmates, as stylists', and more importantly, as friends. this is why you need to cherish the moments you have with the ones that you love, and never take it for granted, because within the blink of an eye, it can be taken away from you. but you need to be willing to fight for what you love, because with love, anything is possible.
